My name is Sonia Casado and I'm the founder of Your Spanish Teacher.
I am a Spanish native speaker coming from Andalusia, in southern Spain. Private tutor specialised in teaching Spanish. With over 14-year experience teaching made-to-measure Spanish language lessons, mainly to individuals, but also to pairs and groups. I have a broad and solid education, and also a wide experience and the desire to keep expanding my knowledge as a teacher a little more every day.
TEACHING FUN AND INTERESTING LESSONS
For me, students are the protagonists of education. That’s the reason why I always try to choose pleasant topics which relate to current social and cultural factors. That way, lessons are more enjoyable, interesting, and effective.
My ultimate aim is to enable my students to communicate in a natural and fluent way in Spanish.
During my career, I have taught Spanish to students with different language levels. With a wide age range; from university students to retirees. From different cultures and professional backgrounds, and with diverse interests and language goals.
Being a Spanish teacher not only has given me an opportunity to teach my language and culture, but also to learn and experience different customs and languages through the students. Thanks to that, I have known them in a more familiar and close way, and therefore, I have been able to get the best out of them.
QUALIFIED AND ACCREDITED BY THE INSTITUTO CERVANTES
With a strong and extensive background, I have an university degree and am also a skilled and qualified Spanish teacher. Accredited by the Instituto Cervantes as an Initial & Intermediate Teacher of ELE (Spanish as a Foreing Language), and as an Oficial DELE Tutor & Examiner of A & B Levels.
HELPING STUDENTS TO IMPROVE THEIR SPANISH FOR YEARS
I created Your Spanish Teacher in 2012, in the city of Manchester (United Kingdom). Since then, I have been able to help lots of students to learn and improve their Spanish.
When I left UK, both my students and I, felt so sad for not being able to continue our classes together. That’s the reason because I decided to start teaching online: to allow them to keep studying with me.
Now, I live in Utrecht (the Netherlands) and, at the moment, I mainly teach online but it’s also possible to have classes face-to-face.
